On September 4, a group of young people were practicing the three-stick drum under the guidance of Li Youwei, a representative prefecture-level inheritor of the three-stick drum, at the cultural square of Dianfang Town, Longshan County, Xiangxi Tujia and Miao Autonomous Prefecture.
This year, in order to build the “most beautiful culture base” in Hunan, Dianfang Town has established more than 40 village-level cultural teams and 5 town-level cultural teams, with a total of more than 300 members. The cultural teams organize various cultural and sports activities every evening, greatly enriching the spiritual and cultural life of the masses.
The town has carried out rich characteristic training activities of hand-waving dance, Maogusi dance, three-stick drum, etc. with rich Tujia cultural resources and representative inheritors of intangible cultural heritage.
Cultural events like the Tujia folk song festival, the Tujia gala and the square dance competition have been held to promote the development of cultural undertakings.
This year, the town has carried out more than 50 cultural activities, presented opera performances in rural area eight times on the theme of “Our Festival”, and 15 training events to inherit the Tujia culture, greatly improving the coverage of cultural services in the areas under jurisdiction, and enriching the spiritual and cultural life of the masses.
